In August 2022 until February 2023 I have done my internship at Hunkemöller.
Before starting HKU fashion design, I really want to focus on graphic design. I love making content, brand identity, posters etc. for the people that stay close to me. Even though I am studying fashion design, I really wanted to investigate the graphic side of design and if this branche is something I want to continue doing. That's why I entered a fashion company and started to work at the digital design department. This department has learned me so many different skills that I didn't know I needed to improve. Besides learning about colour, composition and hierarchy it also showed me to work structured, to be critical about my design choices and the meaning behind the choices I make. It also showed me to step out of my comfort zone and present my ideas. It was an educational time for me, and also a step closer to be adulthood and consciousness.

The possibilities with 3D software programs to make 3D garments has intrigued me this last couple of years. More schools are tutoring in programs like Clo3D. After getting a little taste of using this program in my first two years at HKU, I desperately want to attend the minor 3D hypercraft at Amsterdams Fashion institute. This minor have learned me the possibilities of using 3D software, how AI/AR are changing the fashion industry, and how these can be interpetered in the designproces. I also made a research report about how the designproces using digital alternatives can reduce pollution in the fashion industry. And I will tell you that between now and 10 years this industry will look completely different as we know it this day. Hopefully this upcoming way of working, will be used in more companies and I hope to help and learn more about the possibilities.
